Biography

Hugo lives in El Hato with his mother, three brothers and sister. Their house is made of sheet metal with a dirt floor. Water enters the house when it rains. The family is on our waitlist for a Casa Azul and hope to receive their new house this year. Hugo’s father left the family last year and his mother works as a cleaner to support her children. She earns around Q600 ($80) a month. This year, Hugo is in third grade. Hugo’s favourite colour is red and his favourite food is chow mein. His favourite animals are cats. In his free time he likes to play on the swings. When he is older, Hugo would like to be a firefighter. His favourite subject in school is maths and his goal for this year is to pass his classes with good grades. If he could have any superpower, Hugo would have the powers of Superman. If he had $1 million, Hugo would use it to build a house for his family.
