Biography
Maria lives in El Hato with her mother, father and sister. Their house is made of sheet metal with a dirt floor. Water enters the house when it rains and the house is in danger from landslides. The family is on our waitlist for a Casa Azul and hope to receive their new house this year. Maria’s father works in the fields and earns around Q2000 ($267) a month. When she is older, Maria would like to be a police officer. Her favourite subject in school is English and her goal for this year is to improve her handwriting. If she could have any superpower, Maria would have spider powers. If she had $1 million, Maria would save it until she is older and then buy her police uniform.
