Biography
Marta lives in San Gaspar Vivar with her mother, father, three brothers and two sisters. There are 19 people living in their house, which is rented, and Marta and her family share a single room. The family have no possessions and some of the children were sleeping on the floor before the Project gave them new beds. Marta’s father works in the fields and earns Q1500 ($200) a month. This year, Marta is in first grade. Marta’s favourite colour is pink and her favourite food is pasta. Her favourite animals are dogs. In her free time she likes to play football. When she is older, Marta would like to be a teacher. She is excited to start school for the first time this year and her goal is to learn to read and play. If she could have any superpower, Marta would become a superhero. If she had $1 million, Marta would buy toys.
