Emy lives with her parents and one brother in a one room house built of tin laminate with a cement floor. Her father works in a restaurant and earns about $125 per month. Her mother sells used clothes and earns about $38 per month.

Emy likes to play with her dolls and she loves cats. She likes reggae music and her favorite color is red. She likes to pretend that she is curing her dolls and would like to be a doctor when she grows up.
