Biography

Heidy lives in San Felipe with her mother and four siblings. Their house is made of sheet metal, though does not have a floor. The family’s house is a single room, with 3 beds. The family rent their house, and the owner has also lent them a table top stove to cook with. The family does not have any other furniture or appliances, save for a small table. Heidy’s father passed away near the end of 2018. Heidy’s mother does housework for families, earning around Q100 ($12) a week.

Heidy spent 5 months in Casa Jackson from February to July 2019. When she arrived, just before her fourth birthday she weighed just 25 lbs. During her time in Casa Jackson, Heidy gained 7 lbs. leaving Casa Jackson at a healthy weight.

Heidy’s favorite color is pink and her favorite animals are kittens. She likes to listen to children’s songs and her favorite is ‘Polloto Piu’ which is about a chick.

Heidy loves art and enjoys coloring at home and in the classroom at school. When she grows up she would like to be a teacher because she would like to be like her teacher at school. She would also like to be a doctor.
